Pictou County occurs as county in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. It was established inside 1835. A word "Pictou" is from either a Mi'kmaq word "Piktook" meaning an explosion of gas. the vicinity which in time became Pictou County was a a portion of Halifax County from 1759 to 1835. Pictou County includes a towns of New Glasgow, Pictou, Stellarton, Trenton and Westville. Pictou County includes a Section County Municipalities of A, B and C. Indian reserves within Pictou County include Fisher's Grant and Merigomish Harbour. Pictou County is the province's 4th big populated area. Pictou County is the province's quaternary big populated area.
